René was born in São Paulo. He studied classical dance and took part in competitions in Brazil and abroad. He established himself as a classical dancer at home and went on to gain experience in many countries around the world.
In 2001 he returned home from a dance tour in Europe and joined the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, where he became a soloist. He spent 20 years with TMRJ, where he performed in many pieces from M.Petipa, N.Makarova, A.Ailey, G.Balanchine, J.Cranko, U.Scholz, V.Vassiliev…
He then transitioned to stage design while working towards a degree in scenography at the University of Rio de Janeiro. He worked as an assistant stage designer at the Theatre of Rio until he received his degree in 2015. He has been working with the Astana Ballet, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Atlanta Ballet and the Compendia National de Lisbon.
René loves to share his passion and knowledge for ballet. He is a very experienced, enthusiastic and loving ballet teacher and is very excited to be part of the BFE Team.
