Michael was trained in the Russian technique at the Polish National Ballet School and in 1998 won the highly prestigious ‘Prix de Lausanne’ international ballet competition. After this, he completed his training at the Royal Ballet Upper School in London.

Michael then had a successful career as a soloist dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, His repertoire included; The Nutcracker (role: Nutcracker doll), The Sleeping Beauty (Cavalier and Bluebird), Romeo & Juliet (Benvolio), The Nutcracker Sweeties (Buttons), Carmina Burana (First Seminarian) Powder, Fancy Free, Dante Sonata and Elite Syncopations. After an injury prematurely ended his ballet career he played the role of Chevalier Danceny in Adam Cooper’s Dangerous Liaisons in the West End before turning to teaching. He was awarded the ISTD’s DDI teaching diploma in 2012,  the DDE in 2013 and his Licentiate in 2017.

He choreographed Exposé for Birmingham Royal Ballet’s 2002 fundraising Winter Ball, Dumbarton Oaks for BRB’s Stravinsky Festival and for BRB’s Summer School as well as designing their sets and costumes.

He has been teaching pupils for over 7 years and continues to inspire students in his private ballet studio in Sussex.
