
Esteban Berlanga
Esteban Berlanga was born in Spain and trained at the Royal Conservatory of Albacete and the Professional Dance Conservatory of Madrid.
He joined the English National Ballet in 2006, where he quickly rose through the ranks to become Principal Dancer in 2012. During his time with the company, he performed leading roles such as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake (Derek Dean), the Prince in The Sleeping Beauty (Kenneth MacMillan), Albrecht in Giselle (Mary Skeaping), the Nutcracker (Wayne Eagling), and Frédéric in L’Arlésienne (Roland Petit). His repertoire also includes works by renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián and Maurice Béjart. He was nominated for the prestigious Prix Benois de la Danse for his performance in Faun(e) by David Dawson.
From 2013 to 2018, he was a Principal Dancer with the Compañía Nacional de Danza (Spain), where he performed both principal and soloist roles in works by William Forsythe, Itzik Galili, Roland Petit, Aleix Mañé, and Kenneth MacMillan.
Esteban Berlanga has also appeared internationally as a guest artist with companies including the Australian Ballet, the Nariko Kobayashi Ballet, and the Carmen Cortés Flamenco Company.
Since the 2018/19 season, he has been a member of Ballett Zürich, where he has performed in productions such as Christian Spuck’s Winterreise and the title role in Marco Goecke’s Nijinski.
